About

The people behind
Science of Apps.

Science of Apps is a behavioral psychology consultancy that runs UX audits for mobile apps and SaaS products. Founded by Sushant Singh and based in New Delhi, India, we help app and SaaS teams in India, the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and Europe understand why users stop, hesitate and leave — and what to change first.

Sushant Singh, founder of Science of Apps, has scaled consumer apps to lacs of users and spent 10+ years leading product across startups and digital businesses in the US, EU & India. Sushant started the consultancy to bring behavioural psychology into everyday product decisions, so teams stop guessing why a screen underperforms and start fixing the human reason behind it.

Sushant oversees every Science of Apps diagnosis and writes and reviews the Laws of UX library — 60 plain-English guides to the psychology principles we use to evaluate products, each with app examples, common mistakes and research sources.

What we do

  • Mobile App UX Audit

A mobile app UX audit from Science of Apps is a 2–4 week behavioral psychology review of your iOS or Android app's key journeys. We find where and why users hesitate, drop off or churn, and hand you prioritised, evidence-based fixes.

  • SaaS UX Audit

A SaaS UX audit from Science of Apps is a 2–4 week behavioral psychology review of your web product — sign-up, activation, core workflows and pricing. We show why trials stall, features go unused and buyers hesitate, then rank the fixes by impact.

  • Onboarding & Activation Audit

An onboarding audit from Science of Apps is a focused behavioral review of everything between install or sign-up and a user's first real value. We find the exact steps where new users hesitate or quit, explain the psychology behind each one and give you a prioritised fix list.

  • Retention & Churn Audit

A retention and churn audit from Science of Apps is a 2–4 week behavioral review of why users stop returning or cancel. We combine interviews, review mining and journey analysis to find the psychological causes of churn and the product changes most likely to reduce it.

What we believe

  • Evidence over opinion: every finding is anchored in an established behavioural principle and in what real users said and did.
  • Why, not just what: each finding answers what is happening, why it is happening, what impact it creates and what to do next.
  • Ethical persuasion only: we design for choices users would endorse on reflection, and we do not recommend dark patterns.
  • Prioritised, not exhaustive: you get the few changes most likely to move activation, conversion and retention, in order.

How we work

Every engagement follows the same three phases — setup and observation, detailed evaluation across our five behavioural pillars, and synthesis into a prioritised roadmap — and takes 2–4 weeks. Read the full Science of Apps method or see pricing for each tier.

Where we work

We are based in New Delhi, India, and work remotely with product, growth and design teams in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and across the European Union.
