Science of Apps Careers

Curiosity wanted

Science of Apps hires behavioural UX researchers, product designers, UX writers and product analysts on paid, remote contracts as client projects need them. There are no fixed openings: send your CV and two or three work samples to scienceofappsofficial@gmail.com. We reply within two weeks, then hold one call and a paid trial project.

Mission

Science of Apps is psychology for products that expect more.

More clarity. More evidence. More signal, less opinion. Because the teams we work with don’t settle for “it looks fine”.

We help app and SaaS teams understand why users stop, hesitate and leave — and what to change first. Every diagnosis ties what people do on screen to the behavioural principle behind it, then turns that into a short, prioritised roadmap.

If you find people endlessly interesting and want your work to change how real products feel, join us.

Values

The stars we steer by

  1. Evidence

We anchor every finding in an established behavioural principle and in what real users said and did — never in taste.

  2. Why, not what

Anyone can list problems. We explain why they happen, what they cost and what to change first.

  3. Ethics

We design for choices people would endorse on reflection. No dark patterns, no fake urgency, no exceptions.

  4. Focus

A short, prioritised roadmap beats an exhaustive one. We cut until only the changes that matter are left.

  5. Craft

Clients judge us on every slide, sentence and screenshot. We sweat the details so the insight lands.

Working here

Good work starts with good conditions.

How you work

Small team, real ownership. You work on live products with founders and product leads, not on decks nobody reads.

  • Remote-first, async by default
  • Flexible hours around client overlap
  • Work directly with the founder
  • Scoped engagements of 2–4 weeks

How you grow

Behavioural design is a craft you learn by doing. You will do a lot of it, across many kinds of products.

  • Mobile apps and SaaS across industries
  • Hands-on with our five-pillar method
  • Contribute to the Laws of UX library
  • Feedback on every deliverable

How you're paid

Clear terms, agreed up front, paid on time. We discuss rates openly in the first conversation.

  • Project-based or retainer contracts
  • Rates agreed before work starts
  • Paid trial projects — never unpaid tests
Locations

We’re building from everywhere.

Our home base is New Delhi, India, but the work is global. We collaborate remotely with product, growth and design teams across 6 regions: India, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and the European Union.

Not sure your time zone fits? Write anyway — tell us where you are and we’ll figure out the overlap together.

Hiring process

What to know when applying.

We value hands-on work, broad skills and clear thinking about people. We keep the process short, transparent and respectful of your time.

Want a feel for how we think first? Browse our Laws of UX library — 60 guides to the principles we use every day — or read how we work.

  1. Step 1

    Send your CV

Email your CV and two or three pieces of work you're proud of. We read every one and reply within two weeks.

  2. Step 2

    Conversation

A 45-minute call with the founder about your work, how you think about users and the kind of projects you want.

  3. Step 3

    Paid trial

A small, paid piece of a real engagement, so we can both see what working together is like before committing.

Open applications

Send us your CV.

We don’t post fixed roles — we bring in researchers, designers, writers and analysts as projects need them. Send your CV and a few pieces of work, and you’ll be among the first people we call when the right project lands.

Careers FAQ

Is Science of Apps hiring?

Yes, on a project basis. We don't post fixed roles; we bring in behavioural UX researchers, product designers, UX writers and product analysts as client work needs them, and we call people who have sent a CV first.

How do I apply to Science of Apps?

Email your CV and two or three pieces of work you're proud of to scienceofappsofficial@gmail.com. We read every application and reply within two weeks.

What is the hiring process?

Three steps: you send your CV, we have a 45-minute call with the founder about your work and how you think about users, then you do a small, paid piece of a real engagement before either side commits.

Is the work remote?

Yes, fully remote. We are based in New Delhi and most clients are in India, the US, the UK and Europe, so a few hours of overlap with one of those time zones helps.

Are roles paid, and are trial projects paid?

Yes. Work is on project-based or retainer contracts with rates agreed before it starts, and trial projects are always paid — we never ask for unpaid tests.

Can I apply again if it doesn't work out?

Yes. You're welcome to write again after six months, or sooner if your experience or portfolio has changed significantly.

What happens to the details I send?

We use them only to evaluate your application and to contact you about it. We don't share them, and we delete them on request. Our privacy policy has the details.

Read our privacy policy or meet the founder.
