About this skill

About Tricky reply drafter

Difficult emails — discount demands, angry buyers, procurement ultimatums — tend to get emotional replies that weaken your position. This skill works out what the sender actually wants, then writes a calm, firm reply under 150 words that acknowledges them, holds your boundary and offers an alternative within what you said you can give. It never concedes more than your stated limit. It also suggests whether to reply in writing or pick up the phone first, which often matters more than the wording. To use it, paste the skill into your assistant and send the email you received and what you can and cannot offer; the reply opens with “What they want”.
