What does the Drone Photography & Videography Test cover?

Three skill areas with five questions each, drawn from a bank of 10 per area so a retake brings new questions: Flying Safely and Legally (Rules and airspace, Pre-flight checks and Flight safety); Camera Settings and Exposure (Shutter, ND and frame rates, Exposure and histograms and RAW and colour); Composition, Movement and Editing (Aerial composition, Cinematic moves and Editing and ethics). Every question is an original scenario written to the 2026–2027 standard, with the published source named under it.

Why take the Drone Photography & Videography Test in 2027?

Tier-1 students and alumni have identity hobbies (chess, debate, wine, golf, endurance sport) and share achievement badges widely, a strong organic-reach driver. Passing earns a founder-signed Science of Apps certificate with a credential ID and QR code that recruiters can verify.

Why do drone videographers use ND filters?

Neutral density filters reduce the light reaching the sensor so the shutter speed can be slowed to around double the frame rate (the 180-degree rule), giving natural motion blur in bright daylight.

Do I need permission to fly a drone for fun?

Rules vary by country. In the US, recreational flyers must pass the free TRUST test, register drones above 250 g, follow airspace rules and fly within visual line of sight. In the EU, the open category rules apply. Always check local regulations.
