Control limits on an SPC chart are based on

  1. the manager's target values
  2. the machine's maximum speed
  3. the process's own variation, typically ±3 standard deviations
  4. the customer's specification limits

C. the process's own variation, typically ±3 standard deviations — Voice of the process, not the customer. The real test has 20 questions like this.

What is statistical process control?

A method of monitoring a process with statistics, mainly control charts, to tell normal (common-cause) variation from unusual (special-cause) variation, so teams act on real signals and don't over-adjust.

Is process capability the same as being in control?

No. A process must first be stable (in statistical control); capability indices such as Cp and Cpk then compare its spread with the specification limits.

Can I take the Statistical Process Control Certification Test (SPC) from any country?

Yes. The test is online, in English and free everywhere — people take it from India, the US, the UK, Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. Your certificate is dated with your own local date and can be verified from anywhere at scienceofapps.com/certification/verify/.
